Office of the State's Attorney New London Judicial District
Welcome to the Office of the State's Attorney for the Judicial District of New London.
The New London Judicial District serves 21 towns with about 265,000 residents in the southeastern part of Connecticut. The State's Attorney's office is responsible for the prosecution of all criminal offenses which occur in the Judicial District, which includes the communities of Bozrah, Colchester, East Lyme, Franklin, Griswold, Groton, Lebanon, Lisbon, Ledyard, Lyme, North Stonington, Norwich, Old Lyme, Preston, Sprague, New London, Montville, Salem, Stonington, Voluntown and Waterford.
The Office of the State's Attorney for the Judicial District of New London office located at New London Superior Court prosecutes the more serious cases, mostly those crimes classified under state law as class A or class B felony offenses, from all communities in the Judicial District.
The Geographical Area offices, located at the "Part B" Superior Courts in New London and Norwich, primarily prosecute cases involving crimes classified under state law as class C, class D or class E felony offenses as well as all misdemeanor offenses and infractions, including motor vehicle offenses.
