  The Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) announced today that it has awarded $3,173,530.50 in grants for nineteen projects to plan and design, build, expand, or enhance and improve multi-use trails and greenways across the state.

  Governor Dannel P. Malloy and Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) Commissioner Robert Klee today announced that, under a recently adopted statute requiring the state to conduct an appraisal of nuclear power-generating facilities and solicit bids for zero-carbon electricity-generating resources, the state has selected two nuclear power bids, along with nine solar project bids – two of which are paired with energy storage – and one offshore wind project.

• 11/18/2018 DEEP Holds Remembrance Ceremony for EnCon Officer James V. Spignesi Jr.

  The Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) will hold a remembrance ceremony on the 20th anniversary of the passing of Environmental Conservation (EnCon) Officer James V. Spignesi Jr. Officer Spignesi, a 21-year veteran of the DEEP, became the first EnCon Police Officer to die in the line of duty when he was killed while on routine patrol in Scotland, Connecticut on November 20, 1998.
