IA Process

Pre-Declaration

Based on reports of damage contained in Situation Reports from municipalities, the State may initiate an Initial Damage Assessment (IDA).  DEMHS Regional Offices will send out instructions and IDA forms for Individual Assistance if there are reports of widespread uninsured residential damages.   

Post-Declaration

If the Major Declaration is declared authorizing Individual Assistance then impacted residents (one per household) in declared counties may register with FEMA for disaster assistance.
