Immunization Laws and Regulations

Public Act 21-6 repeals non-medical exemptions in CT. The act includes amendments to the following statutes: 10-204a, 19a-25, 10a-155, 10a-155b(a), 19a-79, 19a-87b.

Medical Exemption Certificate 9-27-2021

Pursuant to Section 7 of Public Act 21-6, this Medical Exemption Certificate should be used by healthcare providers submitting a medical exemption for a child or student attending a Connecticut child care program, elementary, middle, or high school, or higher education.

  • 19a-7h Law establishing the Registry
  • Policies and procedures regarding The Connecticut Immunization Information System 6/22/22. Under the regulatory authority of Conn. Gen. Stat. § 19a-7h as amended by Section 493 of Public Act 22118, each health care provider, school nurse, local health department or district, or federal agency providing healthcare services and other states’ immunization information systems shall comply with the policies and procedures in order to utilize the Department’s immunization information system.  These policies and procedures replace the requirements of sections 19a-7h-1 to 19a-7h-5, inclusive, of the Regulations of Connecticut State Agencies.

  • School Immunization Requirements Regulations 10-204a-1—10-204a-4
    The final version that was published in the CT Law Journal has a small discrepancy in 10-204a-2a(e)(3) mumps.  It reads "has had protection against rubella confirmed in writing by a physician, physician assistant or advanced practice registered nurse based on specific blood testing by a certified laboratory."  It should read “has had protection against mumps confirmed in writing by a physician, physician assistant or advanced practice registered nurse based on specific blood testing by a certified laboratory.
