Hospital Birth Registrars
Birth registrars and HIM staff attended an in-person train-the-trainer training session for the new electronic birth registry system, ConnVRS, prior to its implementation.
- Staff should become familiar with the Mother's Worksheet and Facility Worksheet.
- Staff should complete the Medical Provider Training Course .
- Non-medical providers do not need to register for the course through CT-Train. The above link provides direct access to the course.
- The course takes approximately two hours to complete.

- Access to the Training Course requires Adobe Flash.
- If using a mobile device without Flash, you can access CT-Train (www.ct.train.org) through a mobile app that supports Flash. Puffin is a free app that supports the latest Flash Engine over the cloud for iPad, iPhone and Android devices.

If you have problems accessing the CT-Train website:
- You may need to update some software, such as Java.
- On the CT-Train homepage, click on HELP located above the login window. Then click TEST YOUR ENVIRONMENT then RUN TEST. This may identify if your computer lacks the CT-Train system requirements or needs updating of Java or Flash Player.

Medical Providers
Clinicians and providers will be trained using an on-line course. Each medical provider is expected to complete this course through CT-Train to confirm that he or she has completed the course and is prepared to use the New Connecticut Birth Certificate that went into effect on January 1, 2016.
The Medical Provider Training Course is available on CT-Train.

- We recommend that you print a hard copy of the Facility Worksheet for reference when viewing the 4th module of the course that covers the individual items on the birth certificate.
