Overview
On January 22, 2020, Governor Ned Lamont signed Executive Order #6, directing the Connecticut Department of Social Services (DSS) to establish an Advisory Board for Transparency on Medicaid Cost and Quality. Per the Executive Order, the Advisory Board will consist of several state agency heads and individuals invited to participate by DSS Commissioner Deidre S. Gifford, including one or more members served by Connecticut HUSKY Health, representatives of Medicaid-enrolled providers, and experts in quality measurement and reporting.
The Department is currently soliciting letters of interest from representatives of Medicaid-enrolled providers and experts in quality measurement and reporting. (Advisory Board members served by Connecticut HUSKY Health will be selected from among a number of existing member Advisory bodies.) The Department is particularly interested in ensuring that the Advisory Board reflects the diverse breadth and scope of the members and providers who participate in HUSKY Health, as well as including individuals with technical expertise relevant to the Department’s cost and quality transparency strategy. Commissioner Gifford anticipates that the Board will have a maximum membership of 15, including six state agency heads designated in the Executive Order.
Interested parties are invited to submit letters of interest by Friday, March 6, 2020, to the Department of Social Services, Office of the Commissioner, c/o Abigail Cotto, 55 Farmington Ave., Hartford, CT, 06105. Letters of interest can also be emailed to Abigail.cotto@ct.gov Letters should include detail on the interested party’s qualifications to serve on the Board, experience and expertise with CT HUSKY Health or other Medicaid programs, and any other relevant information that will support the Commissioner in making selections to the Advisory Board.
