Summer EBT
Note: The last day to apply for S-EBT for 2024 was Saturday, August 31st, 2024.
S-EBT benefits are available for 122 days from the date the benefits were first loaded onto your EBT card. Federal rules do not allow benefits to be replaced after they have been removed.
S-EBT is a permanent, nationwide program beginning the summer of 2024. It is a result of a federal law called the Consolidated Appropriations Act passed in December 2022. It gives families with children extra benefits, like SNAP, to help pay for food in the summer.
S-EBT is not entirely new to Connecticut, as the state was one of the first in the nation to pilot the program in 2011. S-EBT helps to lower food insecurity and increases access to healthy food.
The Department of Social Services (DSS) is the lead state agency administering the program in partnership with the Connecticut State Department of Education (CSDE).
