Gov. Malloy Announces $10 Million to Enhance Security at 182 Schools Across Connecticut in Most Recent Round of School Security Grants
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that the State of Connecticut has approved an additional round grants totaling $10 million that will be used to enhance security infrastructure at 182 public and private schools in 51 towns and cities across the state. The funds were approved under the School Security Grant Program that was created in 2013 as part of a broad legislative package signed into law by the Governor focusing on gun violence prevention, mental health, and school security issues.

Gov. Malloy Outlines Proposal to Stabilize Special Transportation Fund
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today released the outline of his administration’s revenue package to stabilize the Special Transportation Fund (STF) and allow for critical investments in the state’s transportation system to take place. Implementation of the administration’s plan for the STF would restore canceled state and municipal projects across Connecticut, and would prevent drastic increases in rail and bus fares and major service reductions on Metro-North, Shore Line East, and CTtransit bus services.

Governors Malloy, Murphy, and Cuomo Launch Coalition to Sue the Federal Government Over Federal Tax Bill
Connecticut Governor Dannel P. Malloy, New Jersey Governor Philip D. Murphy, and New York Governor Andrew M. Cuomo today announced that they are launching a multi-state coalition to sue the federal government to challenge the new GOP tax bill that eliminates the full state and local tax deductibility. This provision effectively preempts the states’ ability to govern by reducing the ability to provide for their own citizens and unfairly targets them and similarly situated states in violation of the constitution.
