  Governor Dannel P. Malloy is urging the Connecticut General Assembly to adopt legislation during the upcoming legislative session in response to the U.S. Supreme Court’s ruling in NIFLA v. Becerra to ensure that women who seek counseling for pregnancy options receive complete and accurate information about available services. The court in yesterday’s 5-4 ruling struck down a California law regarding “crisis pregnancy centers,” which are often unlicensed facilities that purport to offer pregnancy services but refuse to inform clients about safe, legal, readily-available, and low-cost family planning options, including abortion services.

  Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that he is appointing United States Army National Guard Brigadier General Francis J. Evon, Jr. of Newington to serve as Adjutant General of the Connecticut National Guard. As a former Assistant Adjutant General of the Connecticut Army National Guard and Deputy Commissioner of the Connecticut Military Department, Brigadier General Evon comes with more than 30 years of military service and leadership experience.

• 6/25/2018 Gov. Malloy: Hartford Line Ridership Tops 10,000 in First Full Week of Regular Operations

  Governor Dannel P. Malloy and the Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) announced today that ridership on the new CTrail Hartford Line passenger rail service exceeded 10,719 customers during its first full week of regular operations from Monday, June 18 through Sunday, June 24, during which full-fare tickets were required. The service launched on Saturday, June 16, and was free for all riders on the first two days of operation.

  Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that the CTrail Hartford Line attracted a total of 21,850 riders over the course of its two-day opening weekend of service, during which travel was free to celebrate the launch. Sunday attracted a phenomenal response of 11,550 riders, surpassing the 10,300 who rode the train on its opening day of service the day prior.

  Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that over 10,300 people rode the CTrail Hartford Line during its opening day of service on Saturday, June 16. Travel on the new rail service is free for all customers on opening weekend and continues through Sunday, June 17. Because of the significant demand on opening day, additional service will be added on Sunday.
