The lawsuit filed by the U.S. Justice Department opposing the Anthem-Cigna health insurance merger went to trial Monday. The Justice Department sued to block the proposed mega-merger on the basis that the merger of two of the largest health insurers in the United States would create an anti-competitive environment that adversely impacts consumer, provider and hospital choice, and could increase costs.
