Exploring the right job for you
Explore your career interests with a variety of career assessments and inventories and explore your skills with online evaluations and work trials to identify areas for skill building. We also offer counseling and guidance to help identify the service(s) you need to achieve your job goal.
Preparing for landing and advancing in the job
Participate in services that help you become work-ready such as creating a resume, and help preparing for an interview. Services can also include skills training and career education in college and/or vocational schools, if needed to obtain a job. We can also help with on-the-job training to help improve your chances at success.
Job placement, training and internships
We offer Competitive Placement Opportunities – try out a job with the help of your BRS counselor! We also offer job coaching to assist with learning new tasks and achieving job stability on the job.
Assistance managing your services and work
If you are receiving SSI or SSDI, we offer Benefits counseling to help you understand how earning wages may impact your SSI or SSDI. We can also share information about the Ticket to Work program.
Access to tools and equipment needed
Sometimes additional assistance is needed to do the job. That is where Assistive technology (AT) services can help. We can help identify the Assistive Technology devices, services or accommodations you may need on a job and work with you and your employer to put those in place. We can also help you access adaptive equipment for mobility, communication and work activities to address your disability-related barriers. AT services can include AT device demonstrations, AT device loans, AT evaluations and training along with guidance around requesting ADA accommodations at work.
BRS can also assist with vehicle modifications to provide individuals who have no other way to get to and from their job.
Need modifications at home? We can help with minor home modifications to assist you in getting in and out of your home to get to work.
Services to assist in restoring or improving a physical and/or mental impairment may include items such as hearing aids, prosthetic devices and more.
