Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act
On July 22, 2014 President Obama signed into law the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA – Public Law 113-128). Funds for federal grants are authorized by the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) of 2014, Title II, Adult Education and Family Literacy Act (AEFLA), Public Law 113-128. WIOA builds on the strength of prior workforce legislation by requiring solid collaborations with mandated partners and more purposeful relationships between adult education and Connecticut’s workforce development boards. The legislation further encourages the alignment of core programs to implement certain critical elements of Connecticut’s Connecticut’s Unified State Plan.
