State Student Advisory Council on Education 2019-2020 Research Presentation on School Climate and Student Voice - CT State Board of Education Meeting - June 3, 2020

The State Student Advisory Council on Education (SSACE) was created by the Connecticut General Assembly to give students a voice in education planning and enable the State Board of Education, the Education Commissioner, State Department of Education personnel, the Governor, and State Legislators to become familiar with high school students’ perspectives on key issues.

At the State Board of Education’s June 3rd meeting, the SSACE gave a thoughtful and inspiring presentation to the Board on its research and findings on promoting school climate that ensures equity, inclusion, restorative justice, mental health, and outlets for student voice. We encourage you to view this powerful illustration of students demonstrating citizenship, leadership, responsibility, and advocacy on behalf of their more than half a million peers.
