Comprehensive Special Education, K-12 (#165) Cross-Endorsement
The requirements outlined on this page are general guidelines. Approval and/or acceptance of specific course work will be determined once an application, fee, and official transcripts have been submitted for review.
Course work requirements:
- 30 semester hours of credit in special education, including course work in each of the following areas:
- Psychoeducational theory and development of handicapped children;
- Diagnosis of handicapped children;
- Program planning and evaluation of handicapped children;
- Curriculum and methods of teaching handicapped children; and
- Two or more practica in special education dealing with different kinds of handicapping conditions covered by this endorsement
Assessment requirements:
- Passing score on Praxis II – Special Education: Core Knowledge and Mild to Moderate Applications (#5543)
- Passing score on Connecticut Foundations of Reading Test
Please note: Course work for all endorsements must result in the award of college-level credit posted to an official transcript from an accredited college or university.
