Gov. Malloy And Lt. Gov. Wyman Urge Congress To Reject Concealed Carry Reciprocity Legislation
Governor Dannel P. Malloy and Lt. Governor Nancy Wyman are urging the U.S. House of Representatives to reject the Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act of 2017, which is currently pending before Congress and would allow more dangerous criminals and untrained individuals to carry loaded, hidden guns in public places by forcing states with strong concealed carry laws to honor permits from states with weak or non-existent standards.

Lt. Gov. Wyman, Dept. Of Veterans Affairs, CT National Guard Honor Connecticut Veterans Hall Of Fame Class Of 2017
Lieutenant Governor Nancy Wyman, Department of Veterans Affairs (DVA) Acting Commissioner Thomas J. Saadi, and Major General Thaddeus Martin, Adjutant General of the Connecticut National Guard, today inducted eleven veterans into the Connecticut Veterans Hall of Fame. Established in 2005, the Veterans Hall of Fame recognizes the continued service of Connecticut veterans who have made significant contributions to their communities after leaving military service.

Gov. Malloy Announces State Begins Providing Reimbursements To Northeastern Connecticut Homeowners For Testing Of Crumbling Foundations
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that the state’s testing program for homeowners in northeastern Connecticut impacted or potentially impacted by the ongoing crumbling foundation problem has opened its application process and eligible homeowners can now begin applying to receive reimbursements for the testing of their homes. The state is making $5 million available to provide assistance related the costs of testing foundations for homeowners, which will better provide the state with data related to the scope of the situation while providing homeowners with another level of financial relief.

Gov. Malloy Announces Connecticut Has Deployed 13 State Troopers To Puerto Rico For Post-Hurricane Tour Of Duty
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that Connecticut’s Department of Emergency Services and Public Protection (DESPP) has deployed 13 state troopers as part of Connecticut’s ongoing efforts to assist in Puerto Rico’s post-hurricane recovery efforts. The troopers, 12 of whom are fluent in Spanish, will be patrolling and providing security and traffic assistance in conjunction with the local police in Puerto Rico. The crew departed Bradley Airport early Monday morning.

Governor Nancy Wyman and Major General Thad Martin, Adjutant General of the Connecticut National Guard, today launched the 16th annual Operation ELF (Embracing Lonely Families) holiday drive to support military families who are in the deployment cycle. Operation ELF helps lessen the financial stresses that families face during active duty deployment, and the program hosts an annual party to bring together military families during the holidays.

Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that the state’s recently expanded CTtransit bus route providing UConn students, faculty, and staff the ability to connect – for the first time ever – to the main UConn campus in Storrs, the downtown Hartford UConn campus, and UConn Health in Farmington via public transit is experiencing a surge in ridership, having served over 32,000 passenger trips since its launch on August 13.
