Update Regarding Demolition Permit Advisory

Passage of  P.A. 15-131, An Act Concerning Demolition Licensure and Demolition Permits Opens in a new window Opens in a new window Opens in a new window” 

Section 2 of P.A. 15-131 resolves the conflict addressed in our 2014 advisory.  The new language included in this act requires a written notice from the demolition contractor containing the hold harmless language, but eliminates the requirement that it be included on the certificate of insurance.

Duct and Envelope Testing Rebate for Residential New Construction 

Eversource Opens in a new window Opens in a new window Opens in a new window and UI Opens in a new window Opens in a new window Opens in a new window are offering rebates to residential customers to offset the cost of duct and envelope testing needed to demonstrate compliance with the Energy Efficiency Code portion of the State Building Code.


Bonding of Corrugated Stainless Steel Tubing (CSST) 

This memorandum is to clarify the requirements for bonding Corrugated Stainless Steel Tubing (CSST) gas piping systems.

Standardized Photovoltaic Supplement Memorandum  

In light of the growing number of residential photovoltaic (PV) installations occurring throughout the State, the Connecticut Green Bank has been working with the CT Building Officials’ Association (CBOA) and the Office of the State Building Inspector to develop a document to facilitate the submittal of technical information supporting permit applications for these projects. The Connecticut Standardized Solar Photovoltaic (PV) Permit Application Supplement is the result of that collaboration.  This is a one-page technical information sheet intended to provide an accepted, uniform format for installers to provide the information needed by building officials to determine code compliance for residential roof or ground-mounted PV systems.
