September 9 was FASD Awareness Day
Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders (FASDs) are a group of conditions that can occur in a person whose mother drank alcohol during pregnancy. These effects may include physical, mental, behavioral, and/or learning disabilities with possible lifelong implications. Alcohol use during pregnancy is the leading known cause of developmental disability and birth defect in the United States.
