Begin construction of Route 15 Exit 34 Northbound off ramp
Scheduled to the week of July 7, 2006
Stamford, CT — The Connecticut Department of Transportation officials have announced that construction will begin on interchange improvements to the northbound Exit 34 off ramp on the Merritt Parkway, Route 15 and Long Ridge Road, Route 104 on the week of July 7, 2006.
In this initial phase of the Project, the Contractor will be working on clearing trees exclusively for the new off ramp and the removal of evasive plant species through out the Project. Local police from Stamford will be available to assist motorists when required by construction activities through the various work zones that will be required for this work. Construction signs will be posted on both Route 15 and Route 104 to help facilitate the movement of traffic around the site.
The construction activities are part of a 4.9 million dollar contract between ConnDOT and the Dayton Construction Company, Inc. of Watertown, CT. The work includes construction of a new off ramp, new traffic signals, drainage improvements and resurfacing of Route 104 for the length of the Project. The project is expected to be completed in Fall 2007.
Motorists are urged to use caution when traveling through the construction work zone and allow for extra travel time. Please travel at the posted speed limit to ensure the safety of both motorists and work zone crew members.
