NEWINGTON, Conn.- State Transportation Commissioner Ralph J. Carpenter announced today that a Bridge Maintenance project will be performed on I-84 (eastbound), between Exits 17 and 23, in Waterbury. This project is scheduled to begin on or about Saturday, August 25, 2007 and continue to Sunday, August 26, 2007. Rain dates: Saturday, September 8, 2007 and continue to Sunday, September 9, 2007.
Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists through the work zone. The regular work schedule for this project is 9:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. (Saturday evening).
Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving through the work area.
