NEWINGTON, Conn.- State Transportation Commissioner Ralph J. Carpenter announced today that a Milling and Resurfacing project will be performed on Route 5 (South Colony Road), from just north of SR 702 (Wharton Brook Connector) to Ward Street, in Wallingford. This project is scheduled to begin on or about Monday, September 24, 2007 and continue to Wednesday, October 3, 2007.
Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists through the work zone. The regular work schedule for this project is 7:00 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. (Monday – Friday evenings). No work is scheduled for Saturdays or Sundays.
Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving through the work area.
