NEWINGTON, Conn. - State Transportation Commissioner Ralph J. Carpenter announced today that a paving project will be performed on I-91 North (Middletown and Cromwell) and I-91 South (Wethersfield and Rocky Hill). This project is scheduled to begin on or about Saturday, November 3, 2007 and continue through Monday, November 5, 2007.
This project will occur on I-91 North in Middletown in the vicinity of the rest area and, in Cromwell, between the Middletown Town Line and entrance from Route 9 North (Saturday/Sunday). This project will occur on I-91 South in Wethersfield in the vicinity of the Elm Street Overpass and in Rocky Hill in the vicinity of the West Street Exit (Monday).
Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists through the work zone. The regular work schedule for this project is Saturday - 7:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.; Sunday - 7:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.; and Monday - 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving through the work area.
