Route 7 Bypass

Brookfield and New Milford, CT- Effective the week of April 30, 2007 motorists can expect delays on the Route 7 on and off ramps at the intersection of Federal Road. Each ramp will be reduced from two-lanes to one-lane. This work is expected to be completed within two months and at that time the ramps will be reopened to there original configuration.
The work is part of the $ 87.3 million dollar contract awarded to O&G industries, Inc. of Torrington, CT for the construction of the U.S. 7 Bypass in the towns of Brookfield and New Milford . The entire project is scheduled for completion by November 2009.
Variable message signs will be utilized to notify motorists in advance and to advise motorists of traffic conditions in the area.
Motorists are urged to obey the posted speed limit and precede with caution through this and all other construction work zones.
