NEWINGTON, Conn. – Acting Transportation Commissioner Emil H. Frankel announced today that Bridge Maintenance project will be performed on Route I-84, (eastbound) exit 8 to exit 10 Bridge #897, in Newtown. This project is scheduled to take place on Wednesday evening , January 30, 2008.

Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists through the work zone. The regular work schedule for the project is 9:00 p.m. to 3:00 a.m. (Wednesday).

Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving through the work area.
