The Department of Transportation announced today that, weather permitting, repair work on the eastbound side of the Charter Oak Bridge is scheduled to begin on Tuesday evening, January 29th. The work involves the replacement of an expansion joint on the East Hartford side of the bridge in the vicinity of exit 90. Work will typically begin at 7:00 pm and conclude the following morning. Two lanes of traffic will be maintained at all times through the work area on the bridge and the exit ramp will remain open. Minor traffic delays should be anticipated.
This work on this $750,000 project is being performed by Mohawk Northeast, Inc. of Newington, Connecticut under contract with the Department of Transportation.
