Wilton, Connecticut – Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that there will be a minor traffic realignment on Route 7 northbound and southbound, between Cannon Road and High School Drive, on Wednesday night, June 11, 2008. Traffic will be shifted westerly onto new pavement in this location, to allow for work on the eastern side of the roadway. There may be short, intermittent traffic stoppages between 10:00pm to 6:00am for line striping and other work associated with the switch. Wilton police will be available to direct traffic and assist motorists during this time.
The work is part of the overall project on Route 7 in Wilton that will accommodate two travel lanes, both northbound and southbound, for a length of approximately three miles from Wolfpit Road to Olmstead Hill Road. The project is scheduled for completion in April 2010.
Please use caution when traveling through the construction work zone to ensure the safety of motorists and construction personnel.
