Middletown, Connecticut- The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that construction work is scheduled to begin on August 11, 2008 for the reconstruction of the Windermere Avenue Bridge in the town of Ellington. The work will include the replacement of the existing one lane bridge with a two lane pre-cast box culvert and relocating an existing 18” sanitary sewer.
Windermere Avenue will remain open to local traffic during the relocation of the sanitary sewer. A traffic detour, with appropriate signage will be utilized during the reconstruction of the bridge.
The contract was awarded to Paganelli Construction Corporation of Windsor Locks, Connecticut at an estimated cost of $1,118,849.11 on July 16, 2008 and is scheduled to be completed in October 2009.
Motorists are urged to obey the posted speed limit and proceed with caution through this and all other construction work zones.
