New Haven, Connecticut – The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that contract work for the renovation of the New Haven Rail Yard Fueling Facility is scheduled to begin the week of September 8, 2008.
In conjunction with this work, the I-95 southbound on-ramp from Sargent Drive near Brewery Street (across from the U.S. Post Office) will be closed daily Monday – Friday, from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. beginning September 8, 2008, and will continue until approximately October 3, 2008. A detour pattern will be in place to direct commuters to the I-95 southbound on-ramp located south on Sargent Drive near the Church Street Extension.
The contract has been awarded to PDS Engineering and Construction, Inc. of Bloomfield, CT at a cost of $14.4 million dollars. The work includes the demolition, construction and renovation of a fueling facility for trains that is located in the rail yard at the New Haven Train Station.
