NEWINGTON, Conn.-State Transportation Commissioner Joseph F. Marie announced today that a Milling and Resurfacing project will be performed on Route 44 from the intersection of Routes 97 and 169 to the Putnam Town Line in Pomfret. This project is scheduled to take place on or about Wednesday, June 25, 2008 and continue through Wednesday, July 16, 2008.
Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists through the work zone. The regular work schedule for this project is 7:15 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (Mondays - Fridays).
Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving through the work area.
