Wilton, Connecticut Connecticut Department of Transportation officials announced today that on or about Wednesday, August 27, weather permitting, there will be a realignment of traffic on Route 7 in the vicinity of Wolfpit Road and extend to Sharp Hill Road.  Traffic will be restricted to one lane of travel in each direction so the reconstruction of this portion of Route 7 can be completed.

Reconstruction work will begin along the western side (southbound travel direction) and will require all traffic to be shifted to eastern side of road (northbound travel direction).  This stage of work is anticipated to be completed late this year weather permitting.  Once completed, traffic will be realigned onto newly constructed lanes to allow work along the eastern side of road.

The temporary traffic alignment from Wolfpit Road to Sharp Hill Road is anticipated to be in place until the Summer of 2009.

The work is part of the overall project on Route 7 in Wilton that will accommodate two travel lanes, both northbound and southbound, for a length of approximately three miles from Wolfpit Road to Olmstead Hill Road. The project is scheduled for completion in April 2010.

Please use caution when traveling through the construction work zone to ensure the safety of motorists and construction personnel.
