State Transportation Commissioner Joseph F. Marie announced today that a highway safety and illumination improvement project will be constructed on I-91 (north & south) from the Wallingford-Meriden town line to the Route 372 underpass in Cromwell.   Pending funding availability, this project is scheduled to begin construction in the early spring 2010 and continue through fall 2010.

The proposed project involves upgrading existing guide railing and roadway illumination on I-91 and associated ramps within the project limits in order to meet current design standards. In addition, median guide railing will be installed on I-91 in the towns of North Haven, Wallingford, and Rocky Hill to minimize cross-over traffic accidents.
