Route 7 Wilton Reconstruction Project
Temporary night closure of Route 7
Monday, April 7, 2008
Wilton, Connecticut – Connecticut Department of Transportation officials have announced that Route 7 in Wilton, between Cannon Road and Pimpewaug Road will be closed on Monday night, April 7, 2008, from 8:00pm to 5:00am. The closure is necessary for water main work on Route 7. Motorists traveling northbound and southbound on Route 7 will be detoured onto Cannon and Pimpewaug Roads. Traffic control personnel will be available and detour signs will be posted to assist motorists. The work will take place, weather permitting. In the event of inclement weather, the work will be rescheduled to Thursday night, April 10.
The work is part of the overall project to widen Route 7 in Wilton that will accommodate two travel lanes, both northbound and southbound, for a length of approximately three miles from Wolfpit Road to Olmstead Hill Road. The project is scheduled for completion in April 2010.
Please use caution and follow the posted speed limit when traveling through the construction work zone to ensure the safety of motorists and construction personnel.
