Traffic Switch on Route 33 (Ridgefield Road) in Wilton
Scheduled on or about February 18, 2008
Wilton, Connecticut – Connecticut Department of Transportation officials have announced that beginning on or about Monday, February 18, 2008, traffic on Route 33 (Ridgefield Road) will be shifted to the south side of the road, for work in association with the reconstruction and widening of the Route 33 bridge over the Norwalk River. Two lanes of traffic will continue to be maintained over the bridge; however, the left turn lane at Center Street to Wilton Center will no longer be available. Motorists will still be able to turn left at this intersection to access Wilton Center.
The work is part of the overall project to widen Route 7 in Wilton that will accommodate two travel lanes, both northbound and southbound, for a length of approximately three miles from Wolfpit Road to Olmstead Hill Road. The project is scheduled for completion in April 2010.
Please use caution and follow the posted speed limit when traveling through the construction work zone to ensure the safety of motorists and construction personnel.
