NEWINGTON, Conn. – Acting Transportation Commissioner H. James Boice announced today that a Utility project will be performed on Route 2 (eastbound & westbound) between Exits 10 and 11, in Glastonbury. This project is scheduled to take place on Wednesday, January 9, 2008. All lanes will be closed at the Wassuc Road overpass for approximately 10 minutes while the work is being performed.
Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists through the work zone. The regular work schedule for the project is 4:00 a.m. to 4:10 a.m. (Wednesday). The rain date would be Thursday, January 10, 2008 at the same time.
Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving through the work area.
