Daytime Blasting Operation Scheduled for Tuesday and Wednesday March 17 and 18, 2009 along I-95 in the vicinity of Exit 13 in Darien
The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that traffic will be halted along I-95 Southbound and I-95 Northbound, including ramps, in the vicinity of Exit 13 (Old Kings Highway) to allow for a blasting operation to remove rock in the construction area.
The work is scheduled for Tuesday March 17, 2009 with an alternate date of Wednesday March 18, 2009 if weather conditions are not favorable on Tuesday.
Traffic on I-95 will be halted for 5-10 minute intervals 2 or 3 times between 10:00 a.m. and 1 p.m. during the rock blasting. Slow moving roadblocks will be used to facilitate the halting of traffic during blasts and motorists can expect significant delays in the area.
Variable message signs will be used to provide advance warning of event and to provide information on traffic conditions in the area.
