I-395 Culvert Rehabilitation over  Unnamed Brook in the Town of Montville
The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that the Department's  Office of Engineering is developing plans to rehabilitate a culvert that carries the southbound travelway of I-395 over an unnamed watercourse, just south of Interchange #78 with Route 693 (Montville Connector) in the Town of Montville.
"It is the Department's policy to keep persons informed and involved when such projects are undertaken," said Commissioner Joseph F. Marie. "It is important that the community share its concerns with us to assist in the project's development." At this time, it is anticipated that neither a formal public hearing nor a public informational meeting will be necessary.
The purpose of the project is to rehabilitate the deteriorating 6-foot diameter corrugated metal culvert by sliplining with a new liner pipe and providing improved outlet protection.
The present schedule indicates that the design will be completed in 2011, with construction anticipated to start in 2012. This project will be undertaken with 90% federal and 10% state funds.
