I-95 Southbound Ramp to I-91 Northbound (Exit 48) is Scheduled to be Temporarily Closed Weeknights for Deck Repairs Beginning Monday, July 27, 2009
The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that the I-95 Southbound Ramp to I-91 Northbound (Exit 48) in New Haven is scheduled to be closed from 10 PM to 6 AM Monday through Friday beginning July 27 and ending August 7, 2009.
I-95 southbound from Exit 50, Woodward Avenue to Exit 48 will also be reduced to a single lane during the ramp closure period. No weekend work is scheduled at this time.
Access to I-91 southbound-
Traffic will be detoured to I-95 south Exit 45, Ella Grasso Boulevard back onto I-95 north to Exit 48 for I-91 north.
The ramp closure is required to complete concrete repairs on the ramp that is part of a contract for repairs to the Pearl Harbor Memorial (Q) Bridge that include the concrete bridge deck, structural steel, bridge piers, bearing pads and navigational lighting. The contract was awarded to Mohawk Northeast, Inc. at a cost of $2,998,375.00 and scheduled to be completed by October 31, 2009.
