Installation of the Middletown Area Incident Management, Variable Message Sign System
The Department of Transportation announced today that shoulder closures along Route 9 in Middletown, Cromwell, Berlin and Chester can be expected Monday through Thursday from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm beginning Friday May 8, 2009, as work commences on the incident management system.
In addition, beginning May 8, 2009 traffic on the Middletown and Portland approaches to, and across, the Arrigoni Bridge may be reduced to one lane in each direction Monday through Friday from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm.
This $3,250,000.00 project is being performed by A.M.Rizzo Electrical Contractors Inc. of Danbury CT and is scheduled to be completed in August 2010.
Motorists are urged to obey the posted speed limit and to use caution through this and all other construction work zones.
