Nighttime Closure of Brewery St. Beneath the Rte. 34 Overpass in New Haven Scheduled to Start on May 26, 2009

The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that Brewery Street between Sargent Drive and Water Street will be closed weeknights from 10:00 PM to 5:00 AM beginning May 26, 2009.

The weeknight closures are expected to continue for 6 months. The on-ramp from Brewery Street to Route 34 West will also be closed.

The closure is required for the demolition of the existing Route 34 bridge and widening for the new ‘flyover’ bridge from I-95NB as part of Contract E-2. Work may be rescheduled due to inclement weather.

Motorists will be redirected around closure via Water Street, Long Wharf Drive, Canal Dock Road and Sargent Drive.
