Paving of the Route 190 Bridge Over the Connecticut River in Enfield on Friday, June 5, 2009
The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that repaving of the wearing surface on the Route 190 Bridge over the Connecticut River between Enfield and Suffield will take place on Friday, June 5, 2009.
Motorists will be restricted to alternating one-way traffic between the hours 7AM and 4PM. It is advised that motorists seek an alternate route.
The Route 140 Bridge (located 5 miles south between I-91 in East Windsor and Route 159 in Windsor Locks) may be used to bypass the construction.
Police officers and flag personnel will be directing traffic in the work zone.
Construction signing will be in use through the construction area and the posted speed limit of 35 MPH will be enforced.
The work is part of a contract that was awarded to the Rotha Contracting Company of Avon, CT on February 29, 2008 and is scheduled to be completed in August of 2010.
Motorists are urged to obey the posted speed limit and to use caution through this and all other construction work zones.
