Installation of New Security Lighting At New London State Pier

The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that a project is starting on August 2, 2010 to install new security lighting at the New London State Pier.

DOT Project no. 0094-0228 was awarded to Airway Electric Company of East Granby, CT on July 22, 2010 at a cost of $498,840 and is scheduled for completion in December of 2010.

The project consists of the installation of new high mast lighting and will require removal of existing lighting including the poles, overhead conductors and miscellaneous electrical equipment as well as excavation of new foundations for the replacement lighting.

New electrical conduits are also being installed for the new surveillance cameras being completed under a separate contract. The work to install the new surveillance cameras will begin in September 2010 under a separate contract.

Traffic on roadways outside of the State Pier will not be affected. Traffic within the State Pier property will be coordinated with the pier operator.
