Lane closures on Route 3 in the North and Southbound direction for Repairs to the William H. Putnam Bridge in the Towns of Wethersfield and Glastonbury
The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that daytime lane closures will begin on or about Monday, August 16, 2010 on Route 3 in both directions of the Putnam Bridge in the towns of Wethersfield and Glastonbury.
DOT Project No. 53-183 was awarded to Mohawk Northeast of Plantsville, CT on July 21, 2010 at an estimated cost of $500,000.00 and is scheduled to be completed in October 2010.
The project consists of various structural steel repairs on Bridge No. 0417 that carries Route 3 over the Connecticut River .
The allowable hours of work are:
Monday to Friday
Rt.3 north - 6 a.m. to 3 p.m.*
Rt.3 south – 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.*
*Some work may occur during the night after 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. but a majority of the work will be completed during hours of daylight.
