Project No. 92-640, Operation and Safety Improvements on Route 10 at Lamberton Street, City of New Haven
The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that the Department is developing plans to provide operation and safety improvements at the intersection of Route 10 and Lamberton Street in the City of New Haven.
It is the Department's policy to keep the public informed and involved when such projects are undertaken. It is important that the community share its concerns with the Department to assist in the project’s development. If there is adequate interest, an informational meeting will be conducted. At this time, it is not anticipated that a formal public hearing will be necessary.
The purpose of the project is to improve the operation and safety of this intersection. The current scope of work involves installing a traffic signal at the subject location and adding left-turn lanes on Route 10 for vehicles turning left onto Lamberton Street and the recycling center driveway. Minor widening of the roadway pavement is proposed on Route 10 to accommodate the left-turn lanes.
The present schedule indicates that the design will be completed in fall 2010, with construction anticipated to start in 2011, pending funding availability. The project will be undertaken with 100% federal funds.
Anyone interested in receiving information on this project may do so by contacting Mr. Scott A. Hill, Manager of State Design, at (860) 594-3272 or by e-mail at Scott.Hill@ct.gov. Please make reference to State Project No. 92-640.
