The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that due to upcoming inclement weather the setting of steel beams for the reconstruction of the Indian Field Road Bridge over Interstate 95 in Greenwich is rescheduled for the week of March 1, 2010.
I-95 in both directions will be affected during setting of structural steel for the reconstructed bridge. The work is scheduled at night and will affect travel from Tuesday, March 2, 2010 through Thursday, March 4, 2010, weather permitting.
Motorists can expect I-95 north and southbound to be reduced to one lane from 11pm to 6 am. Traffic will be halted in both directions for ten minute intervals between 12:00 AM and 5:00 AM during the setting of the structural steel beams for the bridge.
DOT Project no. 0056-0289 which was scheduled for completion in May of 2011 may be completed as early as November 2010. The contract was awarded to Blakeslee Arpaia Chapman, Inc. on August 8, 2008 at a cost of $6,976,685.50.
