Construction of New Department of Transportation Bridge Maintenance Facility and Renovation of the Existing Repair and Maintenance Buildings in Old Saybrook
The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing start of work on or about May 7, 2011 for the construction and renovation of the Department of Transportation Maintenance Facility located off of Route 154 and adjacent to Route 9 southbound in the town of Old Saybrook.
The project consists of upgrades to the Department’s existing repair and maintenance buildings, installation of a water main from Route 154 to the facility, reconstruction of the access road leading to the State facility and the addition of a bridge maintenance facility.
Motorists can expect lane closures on Route 154 for the installation of the water main Monday thru Friday 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
The contract was awarded to Gar-San Corporation of Watertown , CT on March 25, 2011 at a cost of $6,378,486.01 and is scheduled to be completed in August of 2012.
