Final Days For Repair Work on Route 3 Putnam Bridge in the Towns of Glastonbury and Wethersfield
The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that repair work on the Putnam Bridge is coming to a close. The contractor is expected to complete the project this Saturday, January 29, 2011, weather permitting.
The contractor, Mohawk Northeast of Plantsville, CT was awarded the contract for the critical structure repairs. DOT personnel and the contractor have been working on completion of the repairs for several months under unfavorable weather and site conditions.
Motorists can expect a northbound lane closure tomorrow, Saturday, January 29, to complete all work. An additional day, Monday, January 31, may be required only if weather is not favorable on Saturday.
Bridge Safety inspection crews will be back on bridge but the schedule is not known at this time. Please visit the Department’s website www.ct.gov/dot and click on “Press Releases” to get the most current lane closure information for bridge inspections.
