Night Work Scheduled to Begin for the Milling and Resurfacing of Mountain Road, Broad Street, Riverside Avenue, Route 229 (King Street and Middle Street) in the City of Bristol
The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that night work is scheduled for the milling and resurfacing of Mountain Road, Broad Street, Riverside Avenue, and Route 229 (King Street and Middle Street) in the City of Bristol beginning Tuesday, June 28, 2011, weather permitting. The work is scheduled to be completed by the week of July 17, 2011.
LANE CLOSURE INFO
Monday - Thursday from 6:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. with Friday as a rain date.
No work scheduled for July 4th holiday weekend from Friday July 1 to Monday July 4, 2011.
DETOUR INFO
During milling and paving operations, Mountain Road and Broad Street will be closed periodically. Mountain Road traffic will be detoured to Riverside Avenue and Broad Street traffic will be detoured to Pine Street.
The work is part of the final phase of the relocation of Route 72 project in Bristol and Plainville.
DOT Project No. 0017-0137 was awarded to Manafort Brothers, Inc. of Plainville, CT at a cost of $39,663,000.70. The contract is being administered by the Office of Construction District 1, Rocky Hill and all work including punch list items are planned on being completed by September 2011.
