Nighttime closure of U.S. Route 1 (Forbes Avenue) between Stiles Street and East Street including the Tomlinson Bridge in New Haven will occur Monday night, January 24, 2011
The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that U.S. Route 1 (Forbes Avenue) between Stiles Street and East Street including the Tomlinson Bridge in New Haven will be closed on Monday night, January 24, 2011 at 10 PM and reopen by 5 AM Tuesday, January 25, 2011.
The closure will only occur if favorable weather conditions exist. Current alternate closure date is Tuesday night, January 25, 2011 at 10 PM with reopening of road by 5 AM Wednesday, January 26, 2011.
DETOUR INFO
Traffic traveling eastbound on Forbes Avenue will be detoured onto I-95 NB via Long Wharf Drive and continue to Woodward Avenue (Exit 50) to Forbes Avenue.
Traffic traveling westbound on Forbes Avenue will be detoured onto I-95 SB via Stiles Street to the Waterfront Connector On-Ramp and continue to Sargent Drive (Exit 46), Canal Dock Road and Long Wharf Drive.
The work in Contract B is part of the I-95 New Haven Harbor Crossing (NHHC) Corridor Improvement Program and includes the construction of the new Pearl Harbor Memorial (Q) Bridge. This contract is in advance of the reconstruction of the I-95/I-91/Route 34 Interchange.
