The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that the legal speed limit has been reduced to 45 mph on I-95 in both directions between Exits 32 and 34 in Milford and Stratford.
The speed limit has been reduced in order to enhance worker safety and the safety of the traveling public while work progresses on the bridge replacement project. Signs been installed in advance of reduced speed limit area in both directions. In addition, electronic variable message signs have also been installed warning that the reduced speed limit will be strictly enforced by use of radar. Traffic violations within a construction area carry a penalty of double the normal fines.
