Project Begins for the Replacement of Highway Signing on I-84 from the New York State Line to the Newtown/Southbury Town Line
The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that work has begun for the replacement of highway signing along I-84 in both directions from the New York state line to the Newtown/Southbury town line for a length of approximately 18.5 miles.
The project consists of the replacement of major and minor signs and support structures on Route I-84 in the towns of Danbury , Bethel , Brookfield and Newtown . The work involves the removal of deteriorated signs and the installation of upgraded signs and supports to conform to the Department’s current standards.
DOT Project No. 0174-0308 was awarded on November 23, 2010 to The Quaker Corporation, of Cheshire , CT at a cost of $3,948,950.00 and is scheduled for completion in October 2012.
