Rehabilitation Work on Bridge No.00723, East Rocks Road over Route 15 in Norwalk Restarts After Winter Shutdown
The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that work to complete the rehabilitation of the East Rocks Road Bridge over Route 15 in the City of Norwalk will recommence the week of April 4, 2011 after a winter shutdown.
The project involves the replacement of the arched portion of the structure and rehabilitation of other portions of the bridge.
TRAVEL INFO:
Route 15, Merritt Parkway, between Exit 41 (Rt 33) in Westport and Exit 40 A&B (Main Avenue) in Norwalk has a reduced clearance of 10’. A warning system with both audio & visual alerts is installed to provide advance warning to drivers if vehicles are over the restricted height.
Temporary crossovers may also be used on Route 15 during nighttime hours. Advance notification of these events will be provided. Motorists may experience delays as follows:
Route 15
Daytime shoulder closures between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m.
Night time lane closures as follows:
Northbound: Monday – Thursday 8PM to 6AM, Friday 9PM to 9AM Saturday
Southbound: Monday – Thursday 6PM to 6AM, Friday 7PM to 9AM Saturday
East Rocks Road between Granite Drive and Ox Yoke Lane remains closed for construction and a detour is in effect.
DOT Project No. 0102-0302 was awarded to New England Road, Inc. of Clinton, Ct on December 16, 2008 at a cost of $4,768,001.50 and is scheduled for completion in September 2011.
